Exhibit during donors reception for Peter Buffet concert

Hi all,  Peter Buffett will be giving a concert at FCC in the new auditorium on OAB next Saturday.  The SCCCD foundation director has asked if we would be willing to lend some artwork for the donors reception (you will be credited for your works and the club should also get some recognition).  This is a chance to have your work seen by the arts supporting elite in Fresno and an opportunity that you should not pass up on!  The foundation are primarily looking for smaller works, but a few mid-sized pieces may be considered (under 20″ for sure I think).  The director of the foundation will be coming by AH 102 (sculpture) at 2:30pm on Tuesday to choose works to be included.  If you would like your work to be considered, please bring it to the classroom.

Because of the nature of the event, anything that might be considered even remotely offensive should not be brought (no nudes, probably).  There also will be an emphasis on cultural heritage during the event, so anything that reflects heritage may get some priority.  Originally they were looking for 3d works, but since we will be providing pedestals, I think easels also could be used.

Please have any work, labeled with your name, title and year completed to my classroom by 1:30 Tuesday so we can set things up for her.

We will need the chosen work for next weekend – you should be able to pick it up Monday. Email or text L. West if you have any questions.

Welcome to A.C.T- Art for Community Transformation Spring 2013!!!

It’s a New Year and a new semester at Fresno City College. A.C.T is once again looking for awesome members to join us in our cause to help out the community with the Joy of Art, whether that be in paintings, ceramics, sculpture, dance, theater, music, literature… Need I go on? Art is what one makes it, so come join us and share your art with the Community. We meet every Thursday @ 3pm in AH 102 on campus. You are welcome to join us any time, whether you choose to be an active voting member (making every meeting) or just an fabulous supporting member (helping out with events off campus when your schedule allows). You do not need to be an artist in any sense of the word to join but an appreciation for all types of art is required.=P

Ask yourself what is Art? What does it mean to you?

Hope to see you at our next meeting.
